Daily Makeup Products 2012: Part One

Hey people! Welcome to Reinalogie! It's pronounced: RAY-NAH-LOH-JEE. This is my first official blog post on my new blogger page. This is where I am going to review products (mainly makeup), post tutorials, give you guys my personal tips and advice on makeup techniques and projects. I might occasionally post blogs on recipes, crafts, and DIYs. I had to think long and hard on what topic I was going to talk about and I've decided to start off on my daily makeup products!

My daily makeup products have evolved dramatically ever since I seriously got into wearing makeup during my early college years. During those years I started to get into wearing tinted moisturizer, blush, and mascara. The majority of the products that I used during that time were from Wet'nWild. Haha, of course I used Wet'n'Wild, I was a college student on a budget! But further down the road I started to experiment with higher end products. After a few years playing around with foundations, moisturizers, primers, blushes, mascaras, and etcetera, I have finally found what works for me... so far, haha! So in this particular post I will just show a "sypnosis" of what products I use on a daily basis. I am also going to do sub posts that will go in depth on the products. Alright enough explanation and let's get started!

(L-R: Coastal Scent Powder Buffer, Coastal Scents Flat Stippling, Eco Tools Blush Brush, Sonia Kashuk Spoolie, Eco Tools Angle Liner Brush, Target Brand Eyeshadow Brush, Metal Spatula, Graftobian Metal Mixing Palette)

OKAY! So these are the makeup products and brushes that I use on a daily basis. I did leave out two products (I forgot to put one of them in the picture and I didn't want to show the other product cause it kinda looked gross). It might seem alot to most people but to me all of these products are important staples! I will explain what the products are by category:

SKIN PREP:

I have normal to combination skin, which means that sometimes I have dry skin and other times my skin gets oily or my skin gets dry and oily at the same time. When prepping my skin I like to use the Equate Naturally Beaming Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15. In addition to that I like to dab on some Rosebud Salve on my eyelids, concentrated near the lash line, under the eyes, around the nose, and on the lips. I have troublesome dry patches and Rosebud Salve is a great moisturizer for those areas. After doing my moisturizer routine, I let it soak into my skin while I'm drying my hair. Next I wipe any excess Rosebud Salve (but I leave it on my lips) and apply my Makeup Forever HD Primer in Neutral 0. This is another moisturizing product and acts as a really good primer for my skin. After the primer has soaked in, I spritz some Mac Fix+ on because the next step is going to be applying cream foundation.

FOUNDATION & CONCEALER/CORRECTOR:

For foundation I use Graftobian HD Glamour Creme Foundation. My shade is a mix of Temptress, Enchantress, & Caramel. I apply the foundation with the Coastal Scent Powder Buffer (also spraying it with MAC Fix+). Next I apply a brightener/corrector under my eye which is a mix of Graftobian's HD Creme Corrector in Soft Orange and Pink Hi-Lite.

FACE POWDERS:

After applying the creme foundation and corrector I set it with Makeup Forever HD setting powder. Next I use MAC's powder blush in Blunt to contour and to add some warmth to my face. As for the blush, I use L'Oreal True Match in Innocent Flush with the Eco Tools Blush Brush (lol this whole sentence rhymes!).

EYES/EYE BROWS:

For the eyes I first apply Too Faced Shadow Insurance which is an eyeshadow primer. The next step is that I apply MAC's eyeshadow in Bisque all over the lid and then apply Shroom as a highlight under the brow and on the inner corner of the eye. I then use L'Oreal Paris Carbon Black Lineur Intense Liquid Liner in Carbon Black. After that dries I apply L.A. Splash Splashproof Eyeliner Sealer. From there I move onto the eyebrows and I use 3 different brown eye shadows which are from the L'Oreal H.I.P. Duos and Flirt cosmetics. I use the Eco tools angle liner to apply the eyeshadow to my brows. After that I set the powder with Ardell's Brow Sculpting Clear Gel (which is now shown in the picture because it looks gross now, lol). Then I curl my lashes and coat them with L'Oreal Voluminous False Lashes - Waterproof.

LIPS:

I apply more Rosebud Salve because it has already soaked into the lips. On top of that I like to mix two lip colors which are the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters in Peach Parfait & Creme Brulee.

EXTRA STEPS:
If I feel that my skin looks dry I spray on some MAC Fix+. But if I feel that my skin looks too dewy I apply a little more Makeup Forever HD setting powder.
Doing all of these steps and using all of these products help make my makeup last all day long with minimal touch ups. Next post will involve a more in-depth review of the products! Stay tuned!
